Can't I just drive around to find homes and call signs?Sure, you definitely can. First, when you find a home and call on a sign, you are generally talking to the agent who has listed the home for the seller and who represents the SELLER'S best interests, not yours. Second, when you drive around looking for signs, many of the homes that have signs in the yard are under contract. A real estate sign stays in the front yard until the home sells and the new buyer moves in, and then it is removed. So, the homes you are driving by may already be under contract. With an automated home search, the computers are set up to search for home for you 24-hours a day, and the homes you are sent (via e-mail, fax or mail) are NOT under contract. Therefore, you can look through the listings in the comfort of your home, view virtual tours on your computer if you've had them e-mailed to you, and then decide which you'd either like to drive by, or have your real estate agent show you. |
